Troubleshooting

These are not an official support article. GONE Studios has not published a knowledge base. Each row is a patch note or a community report, and the first step is almost always “be on the 1.0 builds from 20–22 October 2026.”

Back up the save before you delete anything. 1.0 can migrate older full-game saves. Do not mash through an upgrade.

“Community” means gonefishing.wiki or a cited Steam thread, not a lab test by this site.

Symptom	What sources say	Try
CPU 80–100%, GPU near 50%	Host-side fishing math, bait AI, long sessions	Update. Compare solo vs host. Try DX11. Lower bait density.
Mouse will not turn	Old look-up-and-cast lock; spectator camera	Update. Note the repro. Change lobby or respawn.
Too dark or a black frame	Night exposure, no light on the character	Brightness and gamma, added May 2025. Carry a lantern.
Nobody hears you	VOIP defaults to muted	Press V. Pick the device. Check VOIP volume.
Crash or fatal error	Older fatal-error and replication bugs	Update. Verify files. Remove trainers. Keep the crash log.
Cannot join	Version skew, UDP blocked, extra gamepad	Restart Steam. Change network. Unplug spare pads.
Low FPS	Foliage, bait, fish, DX12	Drop foliage and shadows. Try DX11. Update the GPU driver.

Minimum PC?

Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit, i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 6 GB RAM, GTX 1070 or RX 5700, DirectX 11, 6 GB disk. Recommended is 12 GB RAM and an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT.
