Gone Fishin' (1997)

Gone Fishin' (1997) is a Disney comedy starring Joe Pesci and Danny Glover as two fishing buddies. It is not the 2026 horror game, and the title keeps the apostrophe: Fishin', not Fishing.

Wikipedia lists a 94-minute runtime, a 30 May 1997 US release through Buena Vista, director Christopher Cain, and writers J. J. Abrams and Jill Mazursky. Pesci plays Joe Waters. Glover plays Gus Green. Other credited names include Nick Brimble, Rosanna Arquette, Lynn Whitfield, and Willie Nelson.

Reception and money

Wikipedia’s box-office line is about $19.7 million domestic against a $53 million budget. The same article reports Rotten Tomatoes at 4 percent from 27 reviews, average 2.5/10, and a CinemaScore of C. Those figures are the encyclopedia’s, not a fresh scrape of Rotten Tomatoes, which blocked the research pass.
